Hi, I’m Alexaraye!

With over 24 years of experience as a childcare provider and caregiver, I see you.

As an experienced caregiver, I know first hand what it feels like to deal with the stresses and pressures of being a caregiver. That is why I have created The Mindful Care Collective.

I went from caretaker to burnout fast.

Self-care was one of those bottom of the list “things” that I knew I should do, but, if I was honest, self-care was never modeled to me, and I didn’t know how to create the new habit.

I knew for sure, that I didn’t want to be in the emergency room one day, as statistically most burnt-out people end up being. Knowing that I could have taken better care of myself.

I wanted to live a life on purpose. I LOVE caring for others, why did I feel like I no-longer did?

I woke up one day seeking the help and support I needed. I found only outdated old courses, and abandoned websites with no reply back to my emails for help.

In addition, it saddened me that none of these courses were specifically for caregivers.

I am so good at caring for others, why was this so hard to learn how to care for myself?

I knew I wasn’t alone in feeling this way.

8 years later…

I have now become a world-wide wellness adult and children’s yoga & mindfulness teacher.

I have been teaching in these practices at top corporations around the globe, including Nike.

I tried Mindfulness and it was too Woo-Woo for me.

You’re not the only one who has experienced this. Not all forms of Mindfulness are the same as they all have their own language to connect with practitioners. This course comes from a trauma-informed and secular approach—gentle and reassuring.

Do I have to let go of my religion to practice?

No. Regardless of your religious views, you are always welcome within the space. Many religions value different ways of living in the present moment.

I’ve practiced in mindfulness communities and experienced dogma for my belief system.

We practice open-mindedness and respect. No need to worry about any dogma or ideologies being imposed upon you. We have clear boundaries set in the orientation class that establishes safety for all folx; no matter your age, race, ethnicity or religious background.

Practicing mindfulness has triggered overwhelming emotions for me in the past.

You’re not the only one. Mindfulness practice can bring up powerful emotions for anyone.

The course values trauma-informed practices in supporting practitioners in recovering from trauma. You're welcome to reach out to me and I'll do what I can to support you. The more you incorporate these tools into your practice as trauma arises, the more comfortable you’ll be to handle these situations. During the registration and 1:1 meeting before our orientation class, you will have an oppurtunity to share these experiences.
